Why Skibbereen?

Skibbereen has West Cork’s only driving test centre. Taking driving lessons here lets you get to know the roads around the centre so when you come to take your test you will have the best possible chance of success.

Shane is a fully trained and RSA-approved driving instructor (ADI) who will instil confidence in even the most nervous learner. You will be taught in an up-to-date car with dual controls for extra reassurance, so you can concentrate on learning to drive. The school is registered and fully insured.

What does it cost?

• 1 hour driving lesson: €40

• Jeep and Trailer lesson: €40

• Full course of 12 lessons booked and paid in advance: €440 (save €40)

Steps to taking your driving test

1. Apply to the RSA for a Driver Theory Test.

2. Take the theory test.

3. Apply to the National Driver Licence Service (NDLS) for a Learner Permit. Note: This must be within 2 years of passing your theory test.

4. Complete a minimum course of 12 Essential Driver Training (EDT) lessons with an approved instructor.

5. Apply to the RSA for your driving test. Note: The test must be at least 6 months after the date of your first Learner Permit.
